We think of ourselves as a family of Christians; ordinary people who meet together to worship God. The members of our church are people of different ages and different backgrounds, forming a local family of Christian believers and belonging to God's great world-wide family.

The Bible and its teaching is at the heart of everything we hold dear, because it is through the Bible that God reveals himself to mankind.

Each of us has made five important discoveries:

  • God had made us; loves us; and wants us to know Him

  • Jesus Christ is God's Son, through whom we come to know God as Father

  • The world has gone wrong and we, as human beings, need to be changed

  • The Lord Jesus Christ died for us and rose from death. He is alive for evermore

  • Through the Lord Jesus Christ we can be forgiven and find new life in Him

We live in a sad world where so many die without God and without hope. Never has the message of the Bible been so needed. Because that message has transformed our lives, we want others to share God's good news with us. It is a wonderful thing to become children of the living God.

The Pastor
Mr Terry Williams became the pastor of Bethel Evangelical Church on 9th June 1979. He is married and has four daughters, and ten grandchildren. Prior to entering the Christian ministry he worked for twelve years in engineering. He entered the South Wales Bible College, Barry in 1971 and in January 1979 he was invited by eight believers to become the pastor at Bethel Evangelical Church, Nelson. At first the congregation could only support a pastor on a part time basis and so Mr Williams continued to work part time with his former employer, Barry Jig and Tool Company. However, after three years, in the goodness of God, the congregation were able to support a full time ministry.
