He is Alive ! There were advertisements everywhere in Cardiff a few years back “THE MOST IMPRESSIVE COME BACK EVER.” Frank Sinatra is back! Due to modern technology, live dancers and multi screens, you can see Frank Sinatra live, as you have never seen him before. The most impressive COME BACK ever is that of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. A man in the Bible who had suffered greatly and was broken in health, by the name of Job, asked the question. “If a man die shall he live again?” Some think a person will live again in the memories of family and friends and that is all. Others think a person will live on as a particle in the cosmos, and that is all. But is that all? The resurrection of Jesus is God’s answer to Job’s question about life bejond the grave. We read in the Bible “Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is the Devil and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death”. Heb 2:14-15.
Predicted We read in the Bible “I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures”. I Cor 15:1-3. Contrary to what many think, there is a consistency in the Bible. Jesus is the central figure in the Bible. Everything in the Bible directs us to Christ and what He will do for sinful men and women. Jesus also predicted that He would rise again and spoke repeatedly, emphatically and specifically about His resurrection.
Proven A British journalist by the name of Frank Morrison, set out to disprove the resurrection of Jesus and discount it as mere myth. However the overwhelming evidence for the resurrection of Jesus was so compelling it convinced him otherwise. As a result of his personal investigation, he published his findings in a book entitled “Who moved the stone?” The broken Roman seal, the weighty stone rolled away, the Roman guard having left their post, the empty tomb, the remaining undisturbed grave clothes, the many recorded appearances, the change of the Sabbath to the Lord’s Day and the transformation of the disciples, all prove the reality of Jesus’ resurrection. Personal We read in the Bible “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Rom 6:23. We are told that we deserve eternal separation from God, to be cut off from God for all eternity. We also are told that there is a gift held out to us by God in Jesus, which is eternal life. We also read in the Bible “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life”. John 3:16. Easter is more than chocolate eggs, Easter bunnies and hot cross buns. Easter is about one who is the resurrection and the life and how we can know Him as our living, personal Saviour.
